Shannon Lise is a poet and writer who finds herself constantly fascinated by the power of art to tell the truth about human experience. Shannon holds a B.A. in English from Hardin-Simmons University and her poems have appeared in dozens of literary journals and anthologies around the world. Her debut poetry collection, “Such Excess of Light“, was released with Kelsay Books in 2021.

Originally from northeast Texas, Shannon lived in Turkey for twelve years and is currently located in Québec City, where she is pursuing a doctorate in clinical psychology at Laval University. When she’s not writing poetry or studying psychology, she spends as much time as possible hiking, kayaking, camping and road-tripping with her partner Francis, her daughter Nessa Evenstar, and their Alaskan malamute, Lucky.
